What is Abode Yoga

Abode Yoga began with a simple question:

What does it mean to feel at home in your body and your life?

At Abode, we believe the body is your first home. Practice is one way we learn how to return to it.

Rooted in Katonah Yoga® and informed by seasonal rhythm, Abode is a place for movement, study, reflection, and community. The work is physical, but it is never only physical. We use the body as a map to better understand our patterns, our tendencies, our breath, our structure, and the ways we move through real life.

In class, you can expect clear setup, thoughtful sequencing, precise cues, and the use of props with intention. The practice is designed to help you build orientation: knowing where you are, how you are organized, and how to return when life pulls you off-center.

Abode is not a place to practice yoga and leave.

It is a space to build a relationship with yourself.

A place to dwell well.

A place to study your body as a home, your practice as a rhythm, and your life as something you are learning how to inhabit with more attention.

You can practice with Abode through group classes, seasonal offerings, and private 1:1 sessions. Each setting offers a different doorway into the same intention: building a durable, meaningful practice that can support the seasons and rhythms of real life.

Our Mission

Abode Yoga is an intimate practice house for movement, study, reflection, and community.

Rooted in Katonah Yoga® and seasonal rhythm, Abode helps people build a practice that supports real life: one that brings them back to their body, their breath, their patterns, their relationships, and the places where they are learning how to dwell well.

Why an Intimate Class Size

Our classes are intentionally capped at 12 students because we believe the room matters. A smaller class creates space for more personal attention, a stronger student-teacher relationship, and a practice environment where people can feel seen without feeling exposed. It allows the studio to feel less like a place you drop into and more like a place you return to. The intimacy is not an afterthought. It is part of the design.
